Highway of Heroes Living Tribute Honours Canadian Forces

Forests Ontario is honoured to be a planting partner in the Highway of Heroes (HOH) Living Tribute campaign, an effort that will result in the establishment of 117,000 trees along the Highway of Heroes, the 170-kilometer portion of Highway 401 that runs from Trenton to Toronto.

There are several ways to get involved with and support this tribute, including joining in to plant trees. Keep up with the HOH event calendar to find out when planting events will be happening in your community.

Forests Ontario coordinates the planting of nearly 3 million trees every year, but the restoration work along the Highway of Heroes is a unique privilege, both because it will serve as a living tribute to the members of the Canadian Forces who have given the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country, and also because of the opportunity to increase biodiversity and create enhanced corridors for species – both flora and fauna, to migrate.
