Trees Ontario Meets and Greets Thousands at 2008 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair
November 19, 2008 – Trees Ontario and the Ontario Forestry Association (OFA), joined the agricultural space for the first time ever at the 2008 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto, which was held at Direct Energy Centre.
The 10-day fair, which brings in approximately 300,000 attendees from across the country, took place from November 7-16. Trees Ontario and OFA staff and volunteers were on-hand to provide information on programs available, educational tools, tree planting subsidy programs and to answer the many questions that fair attendees had. There were also interactive educational activities available to engage the thousands of school students who attend the fair each year, including tree boring demonstrations and seed identification games. For anyone who was interested, free white spruce seed packs and teacher resource kits were made available as well.
The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair is a unique event that takes place every November in the City of Toronto. The Royal is the largest combined indoor agricultural fair and international equestrian competition in the world. For more information on The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair visit www.royalfair.org.
