Landowner Winter Workshop Series
Winter 2009 – Trees Ontario is continuously striving to raise awareness in the community around its tree planting programs, activities and planting partners. One way this is done is through offering educational workshops with local partners, which are geared to the general public and landowners.
Hosted by local Partners, and in conjunction with the Ontario Forestry Association (OFA), Trees Ontario has organized a series of seven landowner workshops to be held in locations across Ontario throughout February and March of 2009. The focus of these workshops will be to generate awareness around the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources’ 50 Million Tree Program and to teach landowners how they can become involved with their local tree planting agencies to participate in the program.
The winter workshops will also be an opportunity for planting agency partners to profile their own programs and the work that they are doing in their communities, as well as to meet local landowners. Attendees will also have the chance to learn about Trees Ontario’s various tree planting incentive programs and the OFA’s Managed Forest Tax Incentive Program (MFTIP) which can significantly lower eligible landowners’ property taxes.
We invite you to attend a workshop near you and make new connections with Trees Ontario field advisors, the OFA, your local planting agency partners and other landowners.
