Trees Ontario – Gold Level Sponsor at 16th Annual A.D. Latornell Conservation Symposium
November 20, 2009 – The 16th annual A.D. Latornell Conservation Symposium was held from November 18-20, 2009 at the Nottawasaga Inn in Alliston.
The theme of this year’s symposium was – The Currency of Ecology – and paid tribute to the important role our environment plays in helping to sustain a healthy economy.
This annual conference is a place for conservation and natural resource professionals to come together, network and hear from a long list of influential and informative speakers on a wide range of topics and issues. Concurrent sessions and workshops took place throughout the three days and there was also a large exhibitor hall where Trees Ontario had a table with a representative present to provide information on our tree planting programs.
Trees Ontario was proud to be a contributing Gold Level Sponsor for this year’s symposium. Latornell contacted Trees Ontario to set up a planting partnership as they were interested in making this year’s conference carbon neutral. In order to achieve this, Trees Ontario with its partners will plant 4400 trees in the spring of 2010 to offset the carbon created by this year’s conference.
