Appointment of Robert Keen as CEO of Trees Ontario
On behalf of the Board of Trustees of Trees Ontario, I’m very pleased to announce the appointment of Robert H. Keen to the position of CEO of Trees Ontario.
Rob is a Registered Professional Forester who ran his own forestry consultant business since graduating from the University of Toronto in 1982. His company provided forest management services to private landowners across Ontario and was also involved with practices on Crown land.
Rob has been a member of the Ontario Professional Foresters Association since 1985 and served as Vice President for two terms. He was a Director and then the Chair of the Algonquin Forestry Authority. He is currently a Director of the Maple Leaves Forever Foundation. Rob has been a Director of the Board of the Ontario Forestry Association since 1998, and most recently assumed the role of President.
In 2002, Rob prepared the first business plan for Trees Ontario which established our direction. In 2003, he joined the organization as Program Manager. In 2009, he took on the role as Director of Operations, and was responsible for the planning and implementation of Trees Ontario’s tree planting programs, sustaining its 65+ planting partnerships and for the organization’s overall financial planning.
In the fall of 2010, he assumed the role of Acting CEO and now as CEO, he will lead Trees Ontario in growing the organization to further expand our network of partnerships, generate new revenues, seek new initiatives and continue to participate in the huge task of making Ontario a greener place.
I know you will all join us in welcoming Rob to his position.
