Register for Forests Ontario’s 2017 Conference
Posted: October 12, 2016
Forests Ontario’s Annual Conference is an opportunity for forestry professionals, educators, landowners, students, community leaders, and anyone with an interest in our forests to connect and address the challenges and opportunities facing our natural ecosystems.
On February 10th, we’re returning to the Nottawasaga Inn and Conference Center in Alliston Ontario for our 2017 Conference, which will center on the theme of “It Takes a Forest.” Visit our official conference page to book your spot. For the past several years, we’ve sold out early so don’t put it off too long.
Conference will feature a series of panels, discussions, and keynote speakers in addition to networking sessions, a forestry themed trade show, and the White Pine Silent Auction featuring swag from sponsors and local wood producers.
It Takes a Forest
As Ontarians, we should take pride in knowing that we have some of the best managed forests in the world thanks to the many communities and families who have maintained our forests for generations.
However, our forests are being greatly impacted by climate change, pests and development pressures that push them to their limits. As society makes critical decisions regarding our forests, it is more important than ever that we all understand the importance of this resource in a changing world.
Our campaign “It Takes a Forest” was launched by bringing together groups and individuals across the province who have supported healthy forests and ecosystems to engage newer and wider audiences in understanding how Ontario manages its forests, balancing important values such as economic growth and biodiversity.
Join us on February 10, 2017 as we discuss how it takes a forest to build healthy communities and a robust and prosperous society.
