Faces of Forests Ontario: Brooke McClelland
Posted: August 31, 2018
Name: Brooke McClelland
Position: Executive Assistant & Membership Coordinator
Favourite Tree: Red maple
Brooke, one of Forest Ontario’s longest continuous staff members, has filled many positions since she first started with Trees Ontario in 2009. Prior to becoming the Executive Assistant and Membership Coordinator, she worked as an Administrative Assistant, Events Coordinator, and Business Development Officer. Brooke is responsible for managing all of CEO Rob Keen’s meetings, events, and travel plans and coordinating Forests Ontario’s memberships and donations activities.
Toronto-raised Brooke attended Wilfrid Laurier University for a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and George Brown College for Sport and Event Marketing, and has spent her whole career working for environmental not-for-profit organizations. Although Brooke’s background is not in forestry, she has developed a solid knowledge base after being with the organization for nine years. What has kept her here for so long? Forests Ontario’s mission and goals as well as the sense of purpose Brooke gets from working towards a noble cause. She also enjoys that every work day is different from the one before it and likes how Forests Ontario’s organizational size has allowed her to gain experience in many different areas.
Brooke is passionate about being active, and you can find her at the gym or on the soccer field during her spare time. And if Brooke isn’t working or being active herself, she is probably cheering her two boys on at one of their many sporting events.
