Name: Jeannette Holder
Position: Communications Manager
Favourite Tree: Catalpa
Jeannette Holder has been amplifying the voice of Forests Ontario since she started as the Communications Manager in November 2015. Overseeing the communications which support all of Forests Ontario’s programs keeps Jeannette busy, from meeting with program managers, to coordinating her team’s workload, to designing communications plans for upcoming events. Jeannette also tries to get out of the office whenever she can in order to better translate our on-the-ground efforts into words. Working alongside a great staff is one of Jeannette’s favourite parts of her job, as is using her sharp communications skills to increase the reach of Forests Ontario’s messaging.
Hailing from Mississauga, Jeannette obtained an undergraduate degree in Media, Information and Technoculture from the University of Western Ontario. She then went on to pursue a graduate certificate from Seneca College in Corporate Communications. Certainly a change of perspective from her previous position with a law firm in Toronto’s financial district, Forests Ontario has given Jeannette the ability to apply her experience and skills to a wider variety of communications work. Being city born-and-raised, Jeannette appreciates the opportunities she has to balance her downtown lifestyle with time in nature through her work.
When Jeannette isn’t in the office or the field speaking to the great work Forests Ontario does, she can be found spending time with her family. She is also a fitness junkie, and loves staying active by running around the city or hitting the ski slopes.
