Name: Ruth Hall
Position: Office Administrator
Favourite Tree: Poplar
A big hat’s off to Ruth Hall, the woman who keeps the Forests Ontario office running like a well-oiled machine! Ruth has been with us now for three months, though she previously held the Office Administrator position with Trees Ontario (the former incarnation of Forests Ontario) for two years from 2011-2013. A typical day-in-the life of Ruth is busy as she expertly juggles customer service inquiries, office administration, reception duties, and generally ensuring that Forests Ontario is functioning at its highest potential! She is passionate about her role in developing a strong foundation to encourage the growth and stability of the organization, and enjoys seeing everyone’s hard work culminate in finished products.
Born and raised in England, Ruth immigrated to Canada in 1998. After a few years of working for a large financial corporation, Ruth found herself looking for an opportunity to make a greater positive impact in the world. This led her to become a yoga teacher, studying in India and eventually managing and leading yoga workshops and training back in Toronto. The perspective she gained from yoga motivated her to get involved with Forests Ontario, attracted by the organization’s mission of stewardship and forest restoration. Specifically, Ruth is drawn to Forests Ontario’s dedication to expanding green spaces and engaging communities.
Moving forward, Ruth is driven to continue honing her skills and strengthening Forests Ontario’s position as the voice of our forests. She also finds opportunities to get outdoors, practice her yoga, and spend time with her adorable daughter and budding young artist, Eve.
