Position with Forests Ontario: Digital Project Coordinator
Rejoining our team this fall is Digital Project Coordinator Kenya Hewitt! Kenya will be working on a digital capabilities review, examining how external users interact with FO campaigns and programs digitally. Kenya worked with Forests Ontario back in January of this year through to April doing database management and K+I management through her practicum for her masters program.
Kenya has an undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto in English Literature with minors in Sociology and Book and Media studies. She then went on to complete a Masters of Information at U of T through the faculty of information – focusing on library and information studies and knowledge and information management.
Kenya grew up camping and spending her free time exploring the great outdoors. She spent 10 summers at a canoe tripping summer camp, which fostered her love of nature. She now spends her free time hiking with her dog Sam, doing yoga, and reading about whatever is currently piquing her interest (right now she’s reading about AI!). She also loves canoeing and camping, and is hoping to dedicate more time to it in the future.
Kenya was drawn to Forests Ontario because their mission aligned so well her own beliefs and values. She is very excited to see how everything here at Forests Ontario grows and changes. She wants to help Forests Ontario gain more attention and help drive interest in the cause: planting new forests and celebrating all the important benefits of our forests.
She is thrilled to be rejoining the team and is excited for the coming year!
