Under a Forest Canopy

Posted: October 24, 2019

A poem by Arborist Inspector, Tyler Sellers.

Into the trees
Under the canopy
Of an old-growth forest
Playing hiding seeking

Paper bark on birch
Camouflage of a plane tree
Elephant like trunks of beech
Different versions of the maple leaf

The change in seasons
Brings a change in colour
Vibrant hues of autumn
Leads to winter
Where the tree’s skeleton
Is in full view
