Faces of Forests Ontario: Nicole Baldwin

Posted: January 27, 2020

Favourite Tree: White Birch

Position: Restoration Programs Coordinator

Meet Nicole Baldwin, Forests Ontario’s Restoration Programs Coordinator! With us since September 2019, Nicole spends her busy days developing our tree planting programs, acting as the main point-of-contact for our planting delivery agents, and travelling throughout the province to visit partners and check out planting sites.

Nicole grew up in rural Saskatchewan, but has lived in Victoria, Halifax, and now Toronto; not to mention the ten months she spent circumnavigating the globe as part of her naval career! She holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Toxicology, and works part-time in the military as a Naval Combat Information Operator. Nicole enjoys her work’s emphasis on management, restoration, and outreach.

Having grown up surrounded by nature, Nicole has always been passionate about the environment. Additionally, coming from a farming community, she has also always had an appreciation of the importance of effective resource management. She’s a perfect fit for Forests Ontario! As Nicole is an avid outdoorswoman, you can usually find her kayaking, sailing, or running when she isn’t hard at work. She particularly enjoys winter camping.
