The Honourable Donna Cansfield, Minister of Natural Resources to plant first tree of the season
TORONTO, April 1 /CNW/ – Donna Cansfield, Minister of Natural Resources, will join green minded organizations, planting partners and members of the community including a team of local Girl Guides to kick off Ontario’s spring tree planting season and green up Toronto’s waterfront.
The minister will also announce a major upcoming tree planting initiative hosted by Trees Ontario, a Ministry of Natural Resources partner and the organization responsible for delivering the Ontario Government’s 50 Million Tree Program – the single largest commitment to the United Nations Billion Tree Campaign.
Media are invited to attend and participate in the planting. We will hold an onsite tree planting tutorial to help everyone learn the proper techniques to ensure a successful tree planting.
Put on your gardening shoes and gloves, come have some fun, and create your own legacy in a greener Ontario!
