Trees Ontario Goes Green at 2012 Toronto Christmas Market

Toronto, ON, November 30, 2012 – Join Trees Ontario in celebrating the spirit of the holiday season at Toronto Christmas Market held November 30 – December 16th at the Distillery Historic District.

To add to the festivities, Trees Ontario has donated a 45 foot Christmas tree decorated with 18,000 lights and ornaments.

Don’t forget to stop by the Trees Ontario booth to choose from a variety of green gifts including Christmas trees, wreaths, seedlings, greeting cards, and mugs. Proceeds will benefit tree planting throughout Ontario. Information about our programs will also be available. What: Trees Ontario at the Toronto Christmas Market

When: November 30th to December 18th (Monday to Friday Noon to 9pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 9pm). Official Opening Ceremony and Lighting of the Toronto Christmas Market will take place on Friday November 30th at 6pm.

Working with its partners, Trees Ontario is the largest not-for-profit tree planting partnership in North America. With our partners, Trees Ontario planted nearly 3 million trees in 2011. Our goal is to support the planting of 10 million trees per year. To help put Ontario on the path to achieving this goal, Trees Ontario is seeking landowners to participate in its programs.

Toronto Christmas Market, a free annual event, captures all the traditions, heritage and charm of a European Christmas Market, while showcasing hundreds of unique products, family friendly entertainment, specialty beer and mulled wine gardens, and much more.
