Ajax Community Plant

The community that plants together, grows together! Our Community Tree Plant brings together families, community members and volunteers to take part in a half-day tree planting activity, promoting local engagement and environmental awareness.

This family-friendly event offers participants the chance to directly support their community in a local reforestation project and learn about the benefits of trees, shade and green urban spaces.

Along with the Town of Ajax and Honda Canada, we will be planting 1,600 native trees and plants. Town of Ajax will provide the trees, shovels, gloves & snacks! Help increase trees in Ajax- high school students can even receive volunteer hours!

Town of Pelham Community Plant

April 28th, 2017

Play a part in “greening” your local community by joining Forests Ontario, Ontario Wood, and the Town of Pelham, on April 28th for a Community Planting Event. This half-day planting event takes place in a public space and brings together families, friends and community members for a chance to contribute to a meaningful project that offers vast environmental benefits for all Ontarians! Participation helps build awareness around the importance of trees, which clean our air, improve water supplies, foster wildlife habitat, contribute to human health and provide a buffer against the effects of climate change.


What to Bring: To participate in this family-friendly event, bring a shovel, gardening gloves and lots of energy!

What We Will Bring: We will supply the rest – the trees, forestry specialists, mulch and snacks.

Parking: Parking will be available at the address.

Space is limited and pre-registration is appreciated.

This half-day planting event takes place in a public space and brings together families, friends and community members for a chance to contribute to a meaningful project that offers vast environmental benefits for all Ontarians! Participation helps build awareness around the importance of trees, which clean our air, improve water supplies, foster wildlife habitat, contribute to human health and provide a buffer against the effects of climate change.

Parking: Limited parking will be available at the Mt. Albert Water Treatment Plant. Please do not block the roadway.

Ottawa Valley Farm Show

March 14th–16th, 2017

The Ottawa Valley Farm show is the largest farm show in Eastern Ontario and attracts thousands of visitors every year. Come out to learn about all things farming and how you can incorporate tree planting on your property. Forests Ontario is pleased to be exhibiting so come stop by our booth to speak to our Field Advisors and learn how you can add a windbreak to your property or add function and value to your marginal land by planting trees. Seedy Saturday

February 18th, 2017

Come visit Forests Ontario’s booth at Seedy Saturday in Picton from 10am-3pm to learn about seed collecting as well as our tree planting programs that could work for you.

Seedy Saturdays are fun events for anyone interested in buying seeds, attending workshops or taking part in the community seed exchange, all with the main goal of adding some green to your property.

2017 Annual Conference

February 9th–10th, 2017

As Ontarians, we should take pride in knowing that we have some of the best managed forests in the world, thanks to the many communities and families who have maintained our forests for generations. Join us on February 10, 2017 at the Nottawasaga Inn in Alliston, as we discuss how it takes a forest to build healthy communities and a robust and prosperous society.
