Forests Ontario’s 50 Million Tree Program

The 50 Million Tree Program offers financial and technical assistance for tree planting. Property owners with room to plant a minimum of 500 trees (usually less than an acre), can apply. We match you with a planting agent who will work with you to create a plan for your property and deliver professional planting.

The Managed Forest Tax Incentive Program (MFTIP) is a voluntary program administered by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF), that offers a property tax reduction on well-managed forest land in Ontario. It is an incentive to support you in the stewardship of your forest!

To apply you need a 10-year Managed Forest Plan. This is a key tool in caring for your land and helps ensure good forestry practices and stewardship principles will be followed on your property. The plan must be approved by a Managed Forest Plan Approver.
